Playing bingo for the first time in many halls in the United States is very difficult and sometimes intimidating. It is critical to alleviate some of the confusion to have a chance at creating a returning customer. We provide all new players, that are not playing with a current player, with a stick and pennant at their seat to identify them in order to provide them with extra special attention. The goal is to make them comfortable and insure that they have a positive experience.
Would be interested in hearing how other halls orientate their new players. |

| We are developing a new player packet that explains all terminology and other items pertinent to bingo. This still may be a bit much for the new player, so we used an idea from another hall by making the bingo program a solid red color which informed the floor staff that a new player was occupying their area. The floor staff greatly appreciates the heads up so they can check in on them from time to time. So far positive results as long as the new player identifies themselves as a new player. We are also considering a touchscreen video kiosk and possibly a "Bingo University" during the early morning hours. |
